SIP Building Systems Inc. Services

Thank you for considering us for your project.
Here is an expanded description of TEN MAJOR SERVICES WE PROVIDE:
Budget Estimate Design Panel Assembly Structural Certification Heating/Ventilation
Complete Bill of   Materials Building Packages   Available Export Payment   Terms Installation Guidance   for Builders System Inspection

Budget Estimate - We can give you a quote without charge including design to turn-key completion. Alternatively if you are already engaged with a designer or other suppliers, we can provide a quote for 'SIP panel supply only'. Ideally you know what you want and have sketches or detailed descriptions. From these, even before your detailed design is complete, we can provide you with budget costs of total building materials to lock-up. We can provide you with a variety of design and supply alternatives including prefabricated interior walls and other options. The final budget is determined after site particulars and building details are confirmed.

Design - Working intimately with you, we will create the full working plans required to obtain a building permit. Using your sketches or sketches resulting from discussions with you, our ArchiCAD 3-D design software will create photo-realistic renderings of the final structure, both interior and exterior. We also have a network of architects and designers we can refer work to based on your needs to cover residential up to 5 story heights.

If you have a picture of the site, we can insert the photo-like design rendering onto the site photograph to provide you with a realistic impression of the final product in its actual setting. If you have an architect, we will work with him/her to make the best use of insulated panels to ensure the most appropriate panel specification.

Panel Assembly - Before arriving at the job-site we prepare the panels for site-ready installation. The structural insulated panels can be configured in a conventional wall framing pattern. However, our preferred specification uses a "system approach" that further increases structural strength and reduces heating costs. Our optimized system assembly eliminates most of the rim board around buildings to keep the floor joists within the structure thus reducing heat loss. It also reduces construction time, and potential air leaks while improving the structural integrity.

Structural Certification - We provide an estimated cost of certifying the building for structural strength and design. Walls made of structural insulated panels are significantly stronger than conventional walls but still require analysis for reliability of seismic design. Since structural stability depends on building features and the nature of the earth supporting the foundations, the final certification cost can only be calculated after finishing details are known. Our plans can also specify roof truss and panel combinations, and we provide engineered wood packages with optimized beam design and floor systems with all connections and pre-cuts specified -A TRULY UNIFIED design and supply service.

Heating/Ventilation - Attain total control over the air movement in your home. Since a building envelope utilizing structural insulated panels is 15 times more air tight than a conventional envelope, the heating requirements are low, and the ventilation system should be integrated into the house design including the heating system. Simplicity is our first concern in ventilation design to provide low and simple maintenance. Our plans provide for a variety of heating/ventilation options, depending on the needs, wants and lifestyles of the homeowners, the geographical location of the home, solar opportunities and types of energy available. Filtration systems are also available that can screen down to 5 microns eliminating pollens from the air intake to the house. Your location may also be conducive to a zero energy home.

Complete Bill of Materials - After the final design is complete, we provide, if requested, a precise and detailed bill of materials, including the cost of interior and exterior finishing. This service helps builders generate a precise completion budget and allows suppliers to quote easily and accurately. The cost of this service is reduced by half if panel products are purchased from SIP Building Systems Inc.

Building Packages Available - We can provide panels only or a package of panels and all the complementary structural elements of the entire building. The packages are organized and delivered according to the assembly needs for each building. By maximizing job site efficiency, we enable builders to take time with the details of building a good home.

Export Payment Terms - Customers with multiple orders may qualify for 30 or 60-day, no interest payment terms. Because of the ease and speed of assembly, the building could be completed and possibly sold before the payment is due.

Installation Guidance for Builders - We provide guidance to builders using structural insulated panels for the first time -or on an on-going basis. The panels are easy to assemble and after completing one project the contractor will be well on his way to proficiency in building with panels. Our biggest concern is joint sealing and, by being on site with first-time users, we will ensure that the sealing is done correctly during assembly and back-framing-final-sealing applications.

System Inspection - We provide a signed and dated multi-point inspection form and a compact disk of photographs taken during and after completion. The inspection is carried out with the general contractor and/or the homeowner. Copies are provided to the homeowner and "professionals of record": general contractor, building inspector, and SIP Building Systems Inc. The record provides the customer and SIP Building Systems Inc. with documented assurance of a secure structure that is properly assembled and sealed from the inside out.
